This classic piano solo will be known to most players. This special arrangement was written by Keith Harling for piano accordion. This classic ragtime piece is set at a tempo of 142 bpm and is in the key of C and carries a clever left hand twist as it plays over a cha cha rhythm.
The number is one of the all time classics of ragtime and returned to international popularity as part of the ragtime revival in the 1970s, when it was used as the theme music for the 1973 Oscar-winning film The Sting. It is sub-titled “A Rag Time Two Step” a form of dance popular until about 1912 and is a style which was common amongst rags written in the era. This classic should appear in somewhere in everyones repertoire.
