French accordionist Karine Huet started her career playing chanson, traditional Breton music and Jazz. Her passion for Forró took her to Recife, where she played at the “Casa do Forró” during the first of countless trips to Brazil, and back in France she founded the busy Forró trio “Transat “.
She discovered Choro music in Rio and learnt from the finest of their musicians, Humberto Araújo, Silvério Pontes & Trio Madeira Brasil. She founded a Roda de Choro in her native Rennes, in 2007. Karine is an evangelist and an activist of this infectious and joyful music.
Now based in Paris, she plays with a variety of Brazilian musicians. This year she formed the spectacular Karine Huet Quarteto playing an amazing repertoire of Brazilian jazz, blending traditional and contemporary influences, as well as her own compositions.
