Scotland Accordions, with the support of Mirco Patarini and Selenia Menghini from Scandalli, had great success at the UK Accordion Championships. The exhibit was the focus of attention in the Adelphi Hotel for accordion and accessories including midi systems supplied by ScotlandAccordions.co.uk.
A Scandalli accordion was also used in the Masterclass by Frederic Deschamps to show Anne-Marie Devine about different accordion positions. Another Scandalli Accordion was played beautifully by Ciaran Gilligan in the Masterclass. While Frederic also used a Paolo Soprani from ScotlandAccordions.co.uk for demonstration.
“This was a fantastic result for our partnership with Scandalli, and teachers, including Brian Laurie of the Paisley Academy of Music who taught Jessica Fraser” – Alastair – ScotlandAccordions.co.uk
In the picture from left to right are Brian Laurie (teacher), Mirco Patarini (manufacturer), (Jessica Fraser) prizewinner, Emily Fraser (prizewinner), Selenia Menghini (manufacturer) and Alastair of Scotland Accordions. Margaret, who imports Scandalli and other brands of accordions into the UK said
“Scandalli is the standard by which others are judged and at a time when many small producers of accordions are being lost, it is good to have UK distributorship and superb support from Scandalli Italy to sell such fantastic instruments in the UK”.
There was significant interest demonstrated in the midi systems from ScotlandAccordions.co.uk as they are made by the only UK manufacturer of such comprehensive systems. Alastair commented that keeping the fitting in-house means the quality control is excellent and being able to produce custom boards for specific accordions mean that they fit perfectly – both are problems other manufacturers face. The magnetic system is truly contactless and the reliability and quality have spread by word of mouth so that many players including judges of UK accordion competitions have this system.
Mirco Patarini of Scandalli was a key Adjudicator for the Championships. Mirco also played a major role in presenting awards at the prize presentation and we were all very grateful to him and Selenia for travelling over from Italy and supporting the event so graciously.
The success of the event is clearly shown and Mirco is clearly delighted with Jessica and her performance on her new Scandalli decorated Air IV.
